Helping others build on their strengths is something I’m passionate about. I’m Anescia Boyd, Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. I enjoy working with anyone that needs support with overcoming life’s obstacles however, I’m passionate about working with children and adolescents to help prepare them for their future. I previously worked in social services as an Eligibility Worker II. When a Co-Worker mentioned, a therapist job appeared to be a good fit for me I said, “that’s so me” and I never looked back. I absolutely love encouraging others to live their best life and to never give up when obstacles arise. If you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, panic attacks, anger/irritable outbursts, isolative/avoidant behaviors, poor task completion, poor communication skills, suicidal thoughts, or self-harming behaviors I can help you identify what your triggers are and healthy ways to manage them. I have helped others face their fears which reduced or eliminated their anxiety and panic attacks. I have helped others change their thoughts which reduced or eliminated their depression, isolative/avoidant behaviors, poor task completion, suicidal thoughts and self-harming behaviors. I have taught others how anger is the iceberg for underlying emotions which helped reduce/eliminate their anger/irritable outbursts and poor communication skills.
I would like to join you in addressing the barriers that are keeping you from living your best life no matter your age. As a child I was a victim of bullying, I struggled to fit in, to make friends, and to be accepted. I still remember those times when I was afraid and worried about going to school in elementary, junior high, and high school. Being a child/teen isn’t always easy and can definitely have it’s challenges today, especially with the pandemic. Oftentimes, situations that are out of our control negatively impact our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors which can lead to negative outcomes (e.g., mood swings, feeling like we don’t fit in or belong, drop in school grades, not wanting to do things we normally like to). I would like to join you in identifying triggers for what you’re struggling with and developing healthy coping strategies to help you enjoy your life’s journey. Each person is a unique individual so I will work with you to create a treatment plan that is specific to your needs. I believe each person is the expert of their own lives so I’m here to build a therapeutic relationship that’s real and accepts you for who you are. I’m so excited for you that you’re taking the first step in doing what’s best for you. I’m looking forward to meeting you.
