Professional Background and Mental Health Experience
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development with an emphasis in Counseling Services and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from California State University, San Marcos. With years of clinical experience working with teens, young adults, and adults, I have honed my skills in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Throughout my career, I have supported clients navigating everything from anxiety and depression to relationship struggles and life transitions.
One of my greatest passions is guiding teens and young adults as they discover their own voice and learn to advocate for themselves. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing countless clients grow more confident in their ability to communicate their needs and relate to others in a meaningful way.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe that you are the expert on your life, and my role is to guide you in finding the path that feels right for you. In our sessions, I focus on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences. I incorporate evidence-based techniques like CBT and DBT to help you identify patterns and develop coping skills that promote healing and growth.
Therapy with me is a two-way connection-I encourage open dialogue and welcome your feedback to ensure we’re on the right track. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, struggling to set boundaries, or working through relational trauma, I’m here to support you. I use a collaborative approach, exploring skills to manage emotions and heal from past wounds, while giving you the space to take the lead in your healing journey.
Fun Facts About Me
I’m absolutely obsessed with my golden retriever-he brings so much joy to my life! In my free time, I enjoy practicing archery with my husband, which has taught me a lot about mindfulness, patience, and focus. I also love spending time outdoors and exploring new places.
