Life is filled with several twists and turns, some more severe than others. We do our best to handle them as they come and find ourselves at a loss. Not knowing what to do, or who to turn to, I am here to assist you through this time of need. Together we will identify your strengths and goals and we will develop a plan to help you have the life in which you desire. I am compassionate, genuine, and take a great deal of pride in providing an empathetic, nonjudgmental approach to all of my clients.

In my line of work, I meet people from different walks of life and with each person I find something that links them as we’re all human. As humans, we can expect to have a life that has natural ups and downs. My goal as a clinician is to join you on that ride with empathy, validation, and understanding. Along the way, I plan to collaborate with you to provide you with the skills to manage the ride and let it flow through you rather than becoming a stomach-turning rollercoaster. As we continue to experience changes in society, the world, and our personal lives, we all need support. You are the expert of your life, and I am here to provide that support needed to reach your goals.

There is no such thing as a perfect existence. There are moments that are harder than others and we may need some help navigating through the twists and turns of life. I desire to collaborate with you to find a treatment plan that works specifically for you in order to find peace, understanding, increase self-worth, reduce anxiety, and improve your interpersonal relationships. I believe in providing unconditional positive regard simply because you deserve it.

As a parent, it can be difficult to watch your teen struggle with depression and anxiety. It’s important to know that seeking therapy can be a valuable tool in helping your teen navigate these challenges. At Outside the Norm Counseling, we offer a unique approach to therapy that includes the use of our therapy dog, Scout.
Scout is a sheepadoodle, a breed known for their gentle and affectionate nature. Having a therapy dog in session can provide a number of benefits for your teen. For one, dogs are known to reduce stress and anxiety, which can help your teen feel more comfortable and open during therapy sessions. Additionally, therapy dogs like Scout can help to create a calming and supportive environment, which can be especially helpful for teens who may be feeling overwhelmed or isolated.
