Jessica Rose
My name is Jessica Rose and I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. My life's purpose is to help all people by providing a safe space to talk and an ear to hear. I have worked with people from all walks of life such as foster youth, teenagers, adults, children, couples and even those seeking rehabilitative services for substance use. I take pride in my ability to empathize, validate, and demonstrate compassion to those who need it most. I believe we all need to be heard without the fear of being judged, and we all definitely need a supportive hand.
The world, society and our personal lives change daily and sometimes we don't feel the effect of the changes until years have gone by. Our personal troubles can creep up out of nowhere and wreak havoc on our daily life. It's definitely an unwelcome guest of mine! I would much rather spend the day enjoying nature, seeing the sunset, singing, watching movies and spending time with family or friends. Wouldn't we all?
I look forward to helping individuals reach their goals of a healthy mental state by providing skills and techniques to make you feel like your best self!

In my line of work, I meet people from different walks of life and with each person I find something that links them as we’re all human. As humans, we can expect to have a life that has natural ups and downs. My goal as a clinician is to join you on that ride with empathy, validation, and understanding. Along the way, I plan to collaborate with you to provide you with the skills to manage the ride and let it flow through you rather than becoming a stomach-turning rollercoaster. As we continue to experience changes in society, the world, and our personal lives, we all need support. You are the expert of your life, and I am here to provide that support needed to reach your goals.
Leslie Adams
Hello, I'm Leslie Adams, a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I graduated from Touro University Worldwide with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. I'm experienced in working with people of all ages from all backgrounds. I've been pleased to assist those struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, difficult transitions, and addiction.
I believe a collaborative relationship is important to serving the goals of my clients. I describe the therapeutic process as a road trip. The client is the driver, and I am in the passenger seat assisting with the map. At times, the road we navigate may be bumpy, but we can get through it together. Come take a ride with me, and let's explore where the road takes us.
Erin Bixel
My name is Erin Bixel, and as a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. If you are looking for trauma therapy, EMDR can be a highly effective approach that can help you overcome past traumas and move forward with greater peace and confidence.
EMDR is a unique type of therapy that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. By using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, EMDR can help you process and integrate traumatic memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity and helps you develop a more adaptive response to similar situations in the future.
As someone who has worked in the mental and behavioral health fields for years, I have helped diverse populations in a variety of settings, including residential, outpatient, home-based, and school-based. I have additional specialized education and experience working with substance use disorders, autism spectrum disorders, depression, and developmental traumas.
I believe that therapy should be person-centered and tailored to meet your unique needs. That's why I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore ineffective patterns of behavior, process thoughts and feelings, practice building healthy relationships, and work towards valued living.
Whether you are struggling with past traumas or simply seeking personal growth and development, I am here to help. As a representative of Outside the Norm Counseling's professional reputation, I strive to provide high-quality care that can help you overcome your challenges and achieve your goals. Let's work together to help you live your best life!

Scout
As a parent, it can be difficult to watch your teen struggle with depression and anxiety. It’s important to know that seeking therapy can be a valuable tool in helping your teen navigate these challenges. At Outside the Norm Counseling, we offer a unique approach to therapy that includes the use of our therapy dog, Scout.
Scout is a sheepadoodle, a breed known for their gentle and affectionate nature. Having a therapy dog in session can provide a number of benefits for your teen. For one, dogs are known to reduce stress and anxiety, which can help your teen feel more comfortable and open during therapy sessions. Additionally, therapy dogs like Scout can help to create a calming and supportive environment, which can be especially helpful for teens who may be feeling overwhelmed or isolated.
